Kevin Roe, Senior Pastor

Kevin has served in ministry for over 25 years, including churches in Waco, Royse City, Atascocita/Humble, Cameron/Milano, River Oaks, Fort Worth, and Arlington, as well as serving as the chaplain for the softball team at Arlington Baptist University. Additionally, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and athletic coordinator, in addition to working at Ideal Impact, a company that serves churches, ministries, and schools.

Kevin married Rebecca in 2000. Rebecca is a postpartum nurse at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. They have 3 children. Caleb is a senior. Carly is a sophomore, and Andrew is in 7th grade.

Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University, Master of Divinity from Truett Seminary, and Master of Education from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Tim Thurston, Minister of Music

Tim comes to Community North from Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas where he sang in the choir and used his gifts in other services to the church. Tim is a talented choir director whose experiences include working with church choirs in Dallas, Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, and Tucson, Arizona. He is also a full-time consultant. A graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Tim is a native of Amarillo. He enjoys books, movies, and creating thoughtful worship experiences for God’s people on Sundays.

Barry Martin, Minister of Contemporary Worship and Children / Church Pianist

Barry joined the staff at Community North in July, 2024. Born and raised in northeast Texas, Barry is a passionate educator and musician eager to worship and minister with diversified congregations. Barry holds a bachelors degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Music Education and has a standard certification to teach EC-12 grades in the state of Texas. He will be the music teacher at Press Elementary School.

He has spent his previous 9 years leading diverse congregations in Nacogdoches, Sachse, and Balch Springs in various styles of worship, including contemporary, gospel, southern gospel, traditional, and choral worship. Barry currently resides with his beautiful wife Brianna and son Elliott in Wylie.

Kyle McKelvy, Minister of Contemporary Worship and Students / Digital Outreach

Kyle joined the staff at Community North in July, 2024. With a heart devoted to leading God's people into His presence through worship and understanding of the Gospel, Kyle is passionate about serving as a Worship Leader for north Texas. For 7 years, Kyle has been privileged to lead congregations in uplifting and transformative worship experiences. His church staff experiences including working with students and adults and leading worship at churches in Flower Mound, Denton, and Allen, in addition to being a guest worship leader at numerous churches throughout the region. 

Originally from McKinney, Kyle as been part of the north Texas community for over 10 years. After graduating from McKinney High School, Kyle graduated from UNT with a degree in Business Marketing and over 7 years of experience in both Worship Leading and Sound Engineering, which has equipped him in both theological understanding and practical skills in Worship / Ministerial Leadership.

Mallorie Perry, Ministry Assistant

Mallorie joined the staff at Community North as Ministry Assistant in December, 2024. She was born in Bedford and grew up in Irving. Growing up, she spent her summers in Oklahoma with her grandparents, who played a big role in her relationship with Christ. She moved to McKinney in 2022. She has two sons, Andrew and Dakota.

CNBC Deacon Body

The CNBC Deacon Body is made up of men and women who have been appointed by the church to serve the church and care for the needs of its members. They work to preserve the unity of the Spirit within the church in the bond of peace. Additionally, they serve as a council of advice and help consider and formulate plans for the constant effort and progress of the church in matters pertaining to the saving of souls, the development of Christians, and the extension and growth of the kingdom of God.
